Partly, it's fairly obvious jeans and sportswear sells well, or producers wouldn't keep shooting it at the rate they do.

However I think another big factor is that it seems a lot of wetlook producers expect their models to wear their own clothes at shoots.  Which means they're unlikely to turn up in fancy / expensive gear, or things they need to keep smart for work.

I'm Generation-X, and I'm very fussy about outfits, for example I regard low-rise jeans as utter abomination.  So right from the start when I began producing WAM nigh on 20 years ago, I've always provided all the outfits that my people wear.  I used to scour charity shops for high-waist jeans when the regular stores were full of low-rise horror, and also picked up an enormous range of outfits and styles including officewear, suits, formal gowns, wedding dresses, jumpsuits, nurse uniforms, etc.

If you look through our wetlook scenes at https://saturationhall.umd.net/downloads/i/all/genre/Wetlook you'll find quite a variety of outfits.  There is a fair bit of sportswear because I personally like it, for the same reason there are overalls and boilersuit scenes.  But I think what makes the biggest difference in terms of not just doing endless jeans is that we provide the clothes.

Interestingly even though we also have scenes with the girls getting drenched in formalwear, school uniforms, skirts, dresses, they sell relatively few copies, in fact in some cases things I shot purely for my own taste, girls in boilersuits and wellies, have sold more than some of the fancier stuff.  TBH if I was looking at it purely commercially we'd probably drop wetlook entirely, our messy and mud content sells far better.  But I'm from long enough ago that I remember when major producers covered all the bases, plus shooting wetlook outdoors in glorious scenery is always a pleasure, and the girls enjoy the trips out to do it.
