About the "you can´t see it´s wet!":

Right. But for some viewers, me included, the visual wetness, the sheen, the gloss of the material doesn´t matter.

It´s more about the fact that something is wet and/or that the person gets something wet, the less the items are suitable for it or the less it´s about the visual change but the act of getting them wet, the better.
