In reply to Message (60966) FYI, the new term for "wetlook" to use starting May 1st
By MK - wamtec@comcast.net Tue 01/04/14 16:14:14 GMT Now that the U.S. Commerce Dept is giving up control over the internet to the international community headquartered in Brussels.....
...this is going to mean new taxes on internet usage coming from the new Internet agency based in Brussels. The purpose of the new Internet Agency will be to support poverty programs in Developing Nations via the sale of google search terms and keywords to copyright holders, who would then own the rights to all internet usage of those words and earn a rights usage fee whenever that word is being used by any person or entity in the internet, with 50% of all proceeds being taxed as a funding mechanism to support global poverty programs.
Sadly, what will be happening soon will be the same as happened with the song "Happy Birthday to you"...which is no longer sung on tv shows or movies these days because all usage of that song in any tv show or movie requires a copyright fee to be paid, so the song rarely gets sung on tv any more. The same thing will be happening once cyber investors and entrepreneurs start buying up all the search term words people use on the internet too. I have checked, and the average bid to buy the rights to use such words on the new Internet starts at $100,000 for the scarcely use words and the more popular words require bids into the millions of dollars. The current bid for the word "wetlook" is already at $250,000 and so that is way beyond any of us in the wetlook community to own the copyrights usage for using that word, so it will likely be snapped up by somebody outside of our wetlook world, and once that happens it will mean that all wetlook producers like me will have to pay an annual licensing fee of several thousand dollars to continue using that word in our video productions, and forums like this it will mean that all users on this would have to pay a fee of $40+ per month per user to continue using that word on this forum, because once they own this word and also they have domain name control, the annual renewal fee for the domain name wetlook.com is going to be several thousand dollars too.
This is going to affect all wetlook producers and wetlook fans alike, when we get hit with these new taxes and usage fees for using that word every day.
My suggestion is that we band together and avoid all these new fees, by changing the name of our culture from "wetlook"...to some other new made-up-name....because names that do not exist and are made-up-names....can be bought from the new Internet Agency for a relatively low price of only $2000 to $5000 for made-up words.
Therefore, I am pleased to announce, that several wetlook producers along with NIgel and Graham of the 2 forums...have contributed $1000 each, and we have now bought the rights for a new term for wetlook,....so...effective May 1st...we should all stop using the term "wetlook"...to avoid paying fees to outside parties, and as from next month we should all use our new term that we own the rights to use....which is "Undrylook".
Please make sure to use the new term "Undrylook" and not to say "wetlook" after May 1st, and this will avoid you getting a bill from the outside entity that now owns that term.
