FYI...I have been in some scary overcrowded situations like that while at the water festival in Thailand...where I got trapped in a congested street rave party where there were so many people that you literally had to fight your way out of being crammed in and people were falling down everywhere too....and that was pretty scary for me
Nobody in the UK will forget The Hillsborough Disaster that happened in 1989 when 96 people were crushed to death at football match.
These things can and do happen in many different countries...too many people...and poor policing and crowd control (as was the case at Hillsboro too).
