I have collected a few of them....including the original ones with Dinah Shore...who invented this in the 1980's.
Actually...I much preferred the Beauty Queen dunkings at the Swamp Buggy Races each year instead....but sadly those events are no longer televised any more (they used to be on the TNN channel in the 1990s)...and now the only way to see those dunkings is to go to Tampa and watch the events from the spectators stands.

By Francis Chu - francischu@iinet.net.au Sun 05/10/08 01:39:04 GMT I don't think it will happen here, because as far as I can see there is no water on the course, unless you go over the cliff. They might be thinking of doing it at Dubai, where the ladies play a tournament there. BTW, how long have you been collecting those April "splashdowns"? |

By MK - wamtec@comcast.net Sat 04/10/08 21:18:25 GMT errr....but thats the Samsung Golf tournament.
The traditional plunge always takes place at the Nabisco Golf tournament (formerly the Dinah Shore classic)...and that takes place every April..
I have never heard of a traditional plunge at any other golf tournament (the concept was invented by Dinah Shore herself).
Did I miss something. I did a google search and I cannot find any plunges from past Samsung events ?
Clue us in.
