The idea is very good. And you are probobly right, that the "owners" of clips are way beyond memory now. I sometimes tend to think it's still the Internet of the mid-90ies, with mostly free content and clear rights and rules. So my opinions are sometimes outdated.

By rudy - Wed 01/11/06 03:44:37 GMT Ok, Andrew, I can follow your argumentation, but there are thousands of wetlook clips in the world wide web. Nobody will be able to decide for every clip which person "the owner" is. If any user has uploaded a clip which he did not produce, he has broken the rules.
What I wanted to say: this should be a discussion forum, not a platform for mountebanks. I am absolutely sure that the Wambank manager will read these contributions and draw the right conclusions.
The idea of sharing wetlook clips is new, it is good. And we should support people who invest losts of money to make exchanging of wetlook stuff possible. I there are only producers OR freebie hunters in the future, there will be no stuff we are able to exchange. Maybe some clips were rejected erroneously. But this forum is a great chance that we all can be producers AND freebie hunters.

By Andrew - Wed 01/11/06 02:25:37 GMT The Wambank is new, while clipe sharing free and pay sites are not. So over the years many people who haven't contributed ANYTHING to this community have accumulated numerous clips, produced by others. Both producers like Wetinred - with specialist sites or like Tom or JW - with free sites, or even those just sharing movies on Rapidshare, Myspace, Youtube etc. The problem with the WamBank is working on a "first come, first served" basis. So it doesn't really count, who made dthe clip, but who uploaded it first. So for instance: JW made a clip. gave it to us for free. Than someone uploaded JW's clip as his, got ANOTHER free clip for not his work and a few days later JW has his own clip rejected. That's a big flaw. And it may end in this way: noone anymore will give free clips. So IMHO for the WamBank to work nicely each clip should be checked with the well-known clip providers for years (there are not many of them) and if it is their clip it should not be accepted. The way it is now, the person who uses someone elses clip gets another one for free, the provider doesn't. That is highly unfair. And also tells us much about our community. I would never upload a clip not made by me to the WamBank - it would feel like stealing. Yet many people have no problem with it. Sad.

By rudy - Wed 01/11/06 01:26:22 GMT Come on, guy !
I beg to differ. My experiences with the Wambank manager are excellent. Tell him your opinion, but do not shout !! Every forum has its rules and you should accept them. Usually when the Wambank manager rejects a clip there are reasons. Some of my clips were rejected, too. My next upload was o.k., so, where is your problem ????
I am happy that the Wambank offers rare clips which I can exchange with other people all over the world. You should be happy, too, that there are people who are able to offer wetlook stuff. If all wetlook enthusiasts were freebie hunters only, you would not have any stuff for exchanging.
It is your right to critisize others but you shoult not excoriate them ... |
