Yeah I just thought about that...Geocities....HA U would need to find a host that could give u more control of ur website than Yahoo, unless u upgraded to one of their premium packages. |

By WetCasual - wetcasual@yahoo.com Thu 15/12/05 15:01:28 GMT Yes, thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, given that my site is on GeoCities I don't think it is possible to give others than myself access to uoloading to there.. :-/ I'd also prefer something that makes the creation of galleries automatic (less hassle for me). Of course I will demand that people do not upload copyrightet stuff, so there'll have to be a possibility for me to both screen the pictures that are uploaded, and block people that try to upload stolen stuff, from doing any more uploads. |

By WETINRED - stekz@cableone.net Thu 15/12/05 14:58:14 GMT Website: http://www.wetinred.com Yes! U can start by creating specialised folders on ur site server and then pass-protect them via ur control panel. Then give the ppl u authorise a special login ie. username and password to ur site ftp and only to their personal "Upload" folder. They can then upload the images to there, but u have to make the index pages where the images are gonna be.
But u also gotta be very carefull as to not publish copyrighted material without the owners consent. I would state that to ppl that the images will be screened so there's no use in submitting any paysite or otherwise images.
Hope that answers ur question as I'm not to good at explaining things as opposed to siting down with ppl and physically showing them how to do stuff, LOL
Good Luck

By WetCasual - klesbader@spray.no Thu 15/12/05 14:44:27 GMT Website: htttp://www.geocities.com/wetcasual I have been thinking of adding to my website and forum with a photosharing feature - ie a feature where people can upload their own photos, to be seen by all - a bit like webshots etc, but so that everyone (or those I give permission) can upload pictures. I know it is possible to create an MSN group to do just that, but I'd loke something that can be better integrated with the website, and offers tighter control (the ability for me to prevent people from uploading pictures, controlling what pics are uploaded, etc.).
Does anyone know of such a service? Preferrably for free?
