It's called the Logans Run principle...i.e. have all the fun you like until you reach 30...and then it is time to transcend into something else...ha ha...so when you reach 30...become a producer and then you can stay young all your life....heck...Hugh Hufner is nearly 80 now...and that has not stopped him from acting like he was still 21.
For the models...it is no different...thats called the "Menudo Principle" (Menudo was the first boy band to create the boy band genre in Puerto Rico in the early 1980...Ricky Martin was one of the originals boys in the band...and none of them lasted in the band after they reached 16...as they reached that age...they were kicked out and replaced by newer younger members...so that band has been going for the last 20 years..constantly recycling the bandmembers as they reach 16).
The models menudo age for recycling is around 30 too...thats just the way it goes in the wetlook world....wetlook producers grow old gracefully...while the models keep getting recycled...
Mind you..many of our models do go on to become producers themselves...this is what Tracie did when she reached 30 and decided to quit modelling herself...now she has more fun producing and writing and organzing the video shoots.

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Wed 28/01/04 02:18:15 GMT Yeah...it is tough. We have tried that at several theme parks in Orlando...and you have to be real careful not to attract too much attention to yourselves...i.e. the girls have to dress and act like "tourists"...and not like "posers"...
In 1993 I took several of our models to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon waterpark to shoot there...and it was not easy to be inconspicuous.
The good news is...these days technology makes it a lot easier for you to blend in and not be so obviously carrying professional camera gear. 10 years ago..a professional 3ccd camera or Betacam system was a large mother@@@@@@@ that would immediately draw attention. These days you can get professional quality video footage from a small 3ccd palmcorder like the Sony TRV950...that looks like a consumer camcorder...but is actually almost as good as a professional broadcast camera.
I know Leonmoomin could get away with doing stuff like this...cos he and his girls just have a natural approach to doing stuff (like his recent Paris shoots by the Eiffel Tower fountains) that does not look like a professional shoot...just some tourists having fun. Unfortunately for oldies like me and Graham (sorry Graham) it looks a bit odd for guys like us to be shooting stuff in public with girls that are less than half our ages....thats where Leon has the edge...he is of similar age to the girls...so he blends in with them...whereas 40's + fuddy duddies like me look out of place with model who are 20 years younger...it looks like she is with her Dad...ha ha.

By Graham (Styx) - graham@styxwetworld.com Tue 27/01/04 23:54:39 GMT I think we may have a few problems doing that. I think the theme parks may object to the amount of equipment we carry around with us. But the main problems are the lack of "wet theme parks" in the UK and the lack of decent hot weather. On the das that is IS warm enough the queues (lines) are so long for the rides that we'd spend all day just getting a few minutes of video footage. |

By monstershooter - monstershooter@yahoo.co.uk Tue 27/01/04 23:14:53 GMT suggestion for graham and kev of styxwetworld. how about taking photo or video footage of your girls on theme park water rides getting wet in the process. girls in profession smart wear would be great in this situation. what do you think ? |
