People could jump in the pool clothed during a 4th of July bbq in America, but that doesn't mean the whole country does it as part of the festival.

Just translate a text about Icelands National Day

"Björn and I participate in the festivities of the village with friends. In the afternoon we go by train and fan with Icelandic flags.
