By Walt - Mon 18/11/02 11:49:53 GMT Try to do as much with the TWAIN driver that hopefully is part of your scanner's operating software. I have done some very remarkable things scanning old photos and slides this way, making them look pretty close to new. Often, I don't need to use any further processing after that. Usually, your scanning software has the TWAIN adjustments built in & you simply take the time to adjust each preview before the actual scan. This is the best way to correct color, hue, contrast (to a point), and so on. When you use a graphics editor, make sure you convert your files to bitmaps as you work. If you keep opening and saving in JPEG format, you loose quality each time the program re-compresses the file to save it I have seen various books for Photoshop at the local electronics emporiums. You might be able to find something at an online computer outlet or bookseller. |

By WetCasual - wetcasual@yahoo.SPAMMERSGOTOHELL.com Sun 17/11/02 19:00:02 GMT Website: http://www.geocities.com/wetcasual In the process of scanning some pics for my site, I've realised that I am a complete dumbass when it comes to using Adobe Photoshop... So - does anyone have any tips for websites that contains a good tutorial for Adobe Photoshop (version 6) - especially on topics such as enlargement without too much loss of quality, removing shadows, sunlite etc.
